The Level III trauma center operates 24 hours a day and is staffed with more than 40 registered nurses experienced in emergency, trauma, and critical care.
Emergency Services department also includes cardiac treatment rooms specifically designed for patients with cardiac emergencies.
Physicians work eight-hour shifts with double coverage provided by mid-levels 8 hours a day.
The Express Care unit is staffed by Nurse Practitioners 12 hours a day.

Full-time candidates must be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or a Primary Care specialty with recent ED experience. Requirements also include current ACLS, ATLS and PALS certification. Candidates must possess strong communication skills with patients and their families and bring a collaborative approach to practice management.
A 53,000-square-foot addition was added in 2002, expanding the hospital by 40 percent. The additional space houses a Cardiac Cath Lab, a new MRI in the radiology department, new surgical suites, an expanded and upgraded outpatient area and an Emergency Department more than double its original size. A community-based, non-profit hospital. As a Level III facility, Valley Hospital and Medical Center is a regional center for major surgical procedures offering an extensive range of inpatient, maternity and outpatient services -- covering the healthcare needs of all ages.

We are a tertiary referral, teaching and research center for Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Northeastern Oregon, and Western Montana. Locums coverage will continue until two full-time Pulmonary Critical Care physicians are recruited.
